Syrian singer Faia Younan will perform alongside American singer and legend John Legend (pun intended), at his concert in Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena on January 31.

The show is part of the closing celebrations of the Dubai Shopping Festival, and will mark Legend’s second performance in UAE, after his 2018 debut at the Dubai Jazz Festival in 2018.

27-year-old Younan shot to fame since 2014, when the music video for her single, To Our Countries, went viral. She then entered the Guinness World Records for being the first Middle-Eastern musician to crowdfund her debut single, Ohebbou Yadayka.

She has also featured on British band Gorillaz’s 2016 album Humanz.

Younan is currently living between Lebanon and Sweden, and has taken to Instagram to celebrate the news, writing “Friends in Dubai and UAE, I cannot wait until we meet and sing together.”

The Dubai Shopping Festival is an annual, month-long event where Dubai shoppers enjoy sales and entertainment, and this year, it opened with two outdoor concerts in Burj Park from British crooners Liam Payne and Jorja Smith, Algerian musician Cheb Khaled and Emirati singer Hussain Al-Jassmi.
