The first Saudi original series ‘Whispers’ is now live on Netflix. The eight-episode thriller drama is available in 190 countries, subtitled in 30 languages.
The series, written by Roolan Hassan and directed by Hana Alomair, follows the consequences of a family patriarch’s death in mysterious circumstances, unraveling through the lives of his family and business associates. Primarily focused on women, each episode follows a different family member or friend, following their perspective of events before and after Hassan’s death.
“‘Whispers’ offers a new take on storytelling,” Alomair said in a statement. “The series also features several unconventional female characters who truly embody the reasons why this project is so close to my heart. I am very proud that Netflix decided to make the series available to their 183 million subscribers worldwide and I hope viewers in Saudi Arabia, the GCC, the Arab region and beyond will enjoy it.”
