Lebanon is in crisis. Already reeling from economic freefall, the explosion in the Beirut port on the 4th of August has levelled parts of the capital and left thousands injured and displaced from their home.

Relief efforts abound, and calls for donations and support are all over social media, including a new initiative organised by Róisín Tapponi, Hisham Fageeh, and Tina Sayegh. The Artist Fundraiser 4 Beirut is bringing together over 40 Arab artists in a 24-hour livestream to raise funds for Beirut-based charities providing relief in the capital. The livestream will start tomorrow, Wednesday August 12th, at 6PM Beirut time, and will end Thursday evening.

Featuring an extensive list of contributing artists, the current roster includes Radio Alhara, Lifta Volumes, Sophia al-Maria, ISSAM, Lamia Joreige, Cherien Dabis, Sulaïman Majali, Kareem Lotfy, Ala Younis, Sarah Haras, Pam Nasr, Kerning Cultures, Alya Mooro, Mary Jirmanus Saba, Urok Shirhan, Mays Albeik, Parvané, Hussein Oldyungmayn, Moza Almatrooshi, Rama Ghanem, Lizzy Vartanian Collier, Myriam Rey, Firas Shehadeh, Reman Sadani, Basil Alrawi, and many more.

Follow Artist Fundraiser 4 Beirut on Instagram and make sure to tune in here on Wednesday August 12th at 6PM Beirut time for the full stream and fundraising drive.
